Class 18 - Jr. Bucks: under 3 months

Entry #3 ~ Points Earned = 1.5
Ahart Acres Happy Hour ~ Owned by Ahart Acres (Lebanon, OR) ~ DOB: 01-09-16 ~ DOLP: 04-03-16
Judge's comments: I place this buckling first. At first glance, this goat appears to be very short hipped. However, as you look further, you realize that he just has an unfortunately wide belt that sits low on his hips and creates the illusion of a short hip. He is not the longest overall buckling in the class, but he is very balance, and has an outstanding topline for a growing 3 month old buckling. He also has the straightest legs in the class.

Entry #2 ~ Points Earned = 1.0
Legend ~ Owned by Hanna and Keifer Bedwell (Iowa) ~ DOB: 03-12-16 ~ DOB: 03-12-16 ~ DOLP: 04-01-16
Judge's comments: I place this buckling second. He is half the age of the other two bucklings, but still shows good masculinity and muscling for his age. He is just a little narrower through the front end than the first place buckling, but some of that could be his relative immaturity compared to the black and white goat.

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 0.5
Bucking Adoeable Bootleg ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 01-14-16 ~ DOLP: 03-29-16
Judge's comments: I place this buckling third. It is hard to judge his topline in the side profile, but from the other two pictures it looks good. He has good size for his age, and good muscling, but he lacks the width between his front end that the other two bucklings have. I would also like to lengthen his neck a little.

Class 19 - Jr. Bucks: 3 to under 6 months

Entry #3 ~ Points Earned = 1.5
Triple-T TNT ~ Owned by Triple-T Ranch (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 12-15-15 ~ DOLP: 04-02-16
Judge's comments: I place this buckling first. There are two types of bucklings in this class. This red buckling isn't quite as stout as the other two, but there are many things I like about him anyway. He has a great topline, and good width from front to back. He is by far the longest bodied goat in the class, and he has a nice clean head and neck while still maintaining good masculinity.

Entry #2 ~ Points Earned = 1.0
Triple-T Samson ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 12-07-15 ~ DOLP: 03-28-16
Judge's comments: I place this buckling second. I really like this buckling. He has outstanding muscle and a very nice head. However, his side profile makes him look shorter back and shorter necked than our first place buckling today. This lovely bushy hair also makes it a little harder to see what is underneath. I think in another couple of months, this buckling will mature into that muscle and we will see great things from him.

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 0.5
Bakken's Farm Billy the Kid ~ Owned by Hanna's Upside Down Goats (Iowa) ~ DOB: 11-17-15 ~ DOLP: 02-27-16
Judge's comments: I place this buckling third. This buckling is the oldest in the class, but he is less balanced from front to back than the two bucklings ahead of him. I really wish he stood a little taller, and right now he is a little high in the rump. Both of these issues may correct themselves with time, it may be the way he is growing at this moment.

Class 20 - Jr. Bucks: 6 to under 9 months

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 0.5
Zippy ~ Owned by Creekside Fainters (Bennett, NC) ~ DOB: 09-09-15 ~ DOLP: 04-03-16
Judge's comments: I place this buckling first. This is a very flashy little buck, with a very strong topline and good depth of body. He appears to be a little hocky in the rear view picture, but that could also just be the way he is standing. He deserves a blue ribbon today.

Class 21 - Jr. Bucks: 9 to under 12 months

Ahart Acres Happy Hour

Triple-T TNT
Owned by Triple-T Ranch
(Ramona, CA)
Judge's comments: This black and white buckling will be my Junior Champion. He is very deep bodied, has a good spring of rib and great width from chest to tail. He is also just a pretty buckling to look at. He manages to be both elegant and masculine at the same time, which is sometimes a difficult trait to manage in a buck. Judge's comments: This solid red buckling is my Reserve Junior Champion. He is a very nice, clean buckling with a nice long profile. He also has good width, and a nice depth of body.
